The new mics arrived!

And boy do they sound good. Hell, I could be reciting the dictionary on the way to work and people will love listening to my podcasts.

I really have to something about my sniffles. I’m completely unaware I’m doing it until I listen to the recording. They sound extra-specially juicy with these new microphones.

I have to say, what I like best about podcasting is the amazingly friendly people I’ve attracted to here. To me that’s all that matters. I’m still uncomfortable with the worldwide recognition that comes with the territory, but I certainly like the two-way conversations that are the result of me talking to myself.

What is the attraction to fame? Is it that your existance seems greater the more people think about you? I’ve never understood it. Whether I have one friend or a million, I’m still the same person…

  1. Great, so go use them already!!! 🙂 we want madness from rich pav interviewing crazy people etc

    1. Actually, I’d rather interview the normal people I come across in everday life. There’s enough of the wacky, zany Japan already out there. I want to be the antithesis of that.

I’ve yet to meet another person like Masagoro. Is that who you’re thinking of? Every time I go to Shibuya I always hope to run into her again. There’s something about her that really intrigues me. I should look her up.

  2. How about a hike in a small mountain town? Speak with some old Japanese folks, gather the sounds of Japan nature – streams & birds. The sound of the twigs and gravel crunching as you plod along.

    Just a suggestion ; )

  3. Hey Rich, I have been waiting for a new podcast forever….I think a while ago you put up a message saying you were going to tell us about your night in a love hotel or something up that alley.

    1. Hostess bar, not a love hotel. Very different. I want to redo that episode because I’m friends with someone who sings in a hostess bar and has more expereince than I do.
