I give up.

Just a head’s up. As soon as I can find the time, I’m going to reinstall WordPress from scratch. I might have to clear out the database too, which means everything might disappear then come back in a way that’ll make your subscription go bonkers. Kinda like those Cambodian zombies, actually.

If I could, I’d simply move the blog to WordPress.org, which sounds like an excellent place to put a blog these days, but changing my URL would cause an even bigger headache than this comment bug from hell.

    1. Close, but no cigar, but thank you for researching. And I’m almost tempted to give Moveable Type a try, but I’ve heard more stories of people jumping ship in the other direction.

Here’s a thread related to the problem, and in the last post the guy gurggles and drowns.

I looked at the FAQ about it too, and so far haven’t found any errant spaces.

On the bright side, at least THIS TIME it’s not a problem affecting the company I work for.

  1. I think for a fast server WP is pretty good, especially with comment moderation (barring that error you had)…..MT gets kind of funky with rebuilds and are having to rebuild after each post and changes to the database, it gets tiresome. I switched from b2 (the iteration before WP) to MT, merely out of novelty looking back in hindsight.

I guess each blogging tool has its quirks. 😉

  2. Ohhh.. another + for WP it seems…is that imho, its handling of RSS is better and its FREE! 😛
