I saw this demonstrated at the Sony building in Ginza. You're right, It was pretty dumb.

What wasn't dumb though: The 11 inch Organic Display HDTV. I've never seen video quality that looked this good. 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

There were about 10-12 foreigners and maybe 2 Japanese, including a video blogger (a real friendly and outgoing cute pie) named Tage, I think. But I can't find her blog.

The food was good--skewered meat. Nobody but me seemed to like the chicken cartilage (they look like nose bones) so I had them all to myself.

It took a while to settle the check, so I missed the last train home and sacked out in the office again. No big deal. I'm used to it.

So did you enjoy the food and drink?

Was there a diverse group of people like, more than just Japanese people?

BTW, last night's meetup wasn't a presentation. It was just a bunch of techie and blogger-type people getting together in a restaurant to eat and drink.

Those are very popular right now, a lot of two-handed texting going on with those. I still have my small LG and I'm fine with that.

Well your not doing bad Rich, you have kids whom you love and vice versa. Your job is good, well I assume. Your a smart guy Rich and you take the time to share it with us.

Some people were showing their latest mobile phone gadgets or mobile apps they're developing for the Japanese market. I like the phones with slide-out keyboards, but not enough to spend the money to get one myself. I'll always go for the best 1 yen phones I can find, even if they're technologically a year or so behind the times.

It was nice to spend a few hours with like-minded people, albeit most of them were a heck of a lot more intelligent, well-off and well-connected than me. I think it's good to try to surround yourself with successful, happy people and try to learn a little from them.

Well that's pointless. So what other products did they have there? Was there anything your were particularly interested in?
